I usually don't get politically involved, but this once I feel passionate that my candidate is just mediocre enough to make a few changes in this country. He's brave, proud, proactive and above all he's honest... sometimes a little too. This was an Iron Chef video against Addy that I made in 30 minutes. Addy Made Storytime, rules were simple. Make the worst POS video you could in 30 minutes.

This is just simply my take on Nabeshin verses on the roll of Agent 007… and fails miserably. The footage was ripped from the entirety of Excel Saga, so you don’t have to worry about over used footage or dry unrelating scenes. It flows smoothly to the music; no drastic cuts or seizure provoking clips at 5000x normal speed. My favored style of AMVing, slow flowing scenes that tell a detailed story. I try not to use a whole lot of transitions or flashy effects, because it tends to distract from the overall tale. A few fades, but mostly subtle, close to the end you may notice an overlay here and there, but simply for dramatic effect. Of course as dramatic as it still is, try not to take it too seriously, its an attempt at the Ironically Dramatic. Funny without being blatant (does not apply to the intro!) The inspiration for such insanity? If you have to ask you haven’t seen Excel. I wished to add some Puny Puny, but because the domestic release is still a ways away so for now I am forced to settle. Pay close attention in instrumental portion or you may miss some very key sequences. Either way please enjoy. Remember turn off all cellular devices, and pleases do not throw popcorn at the robots, if provoked they will attack… “To the eXtReMe!¡!”

I decided for this role, I would try something a little new to me. Instead of using the song to help with the anime, I would use the anime to act out the story the song tells. To make it just that much more interesting I used clips that I found to be quite true lyrically, in and of themselves. IE: when you Hear DMX say "...And despite how much I hate to see a grown man cry..." I not only used footage that match said lyric, but specifically found a segment where I felt that avidly depicted Alucard's thoughts in said episode/clip. Needless to say this wasn’t' a one-nighter. I want to say it was about 3 months in the making ( I forget when I actually started it,) either way I'm pleased with the results, and I hope you enjoy it to.

This idea came to me just after finishing the last episode of FLCL. And coming to the realization that I was totally gullible for believing that Haruko was out to help Naota (Ta-kun). I was actually pissed off, so I deiced to make an AMV basically saying “Shame on you Haruko.” Little did I know how literal that would become. Now mind you this was well over a year ago. The first version, never made it past the first 10 seconds of animation. Fans subs!! >_< Eweeewwwwewww. Then came the domestic release and all was to be well or so I thought…. Believe it or not I actually had to battle the evil Mediaplay Corporation to get said disc. For a full description of the problem at hand, check my post in the General Anime forum. Well, 2 weeks, 17 hours and 56 minute later I have an AMV that, I’m actually glad to say, I am proud of! But don’t take my word for it, just view it for yourself.
Some of this is all new technique to my work. If you have seen any of my stuff before you will be pleasantly surprised! This is the “new and improved” Mr. Pilkington. Far more l33t than the old version 1.01! Let me know what you think, this may become something I will incorporate into more AMVs from this point on.

Anime Express 7: Best Comedy

This video is a two week project collaborating Speed Racer and Quincy Jones’ “Soul Bossa Nova.” The first week was spent just ripping the sources and putting them into the project in order. A majority of the clips work immediately, very little work was needed. In fact there are some random clips which can be easily pointed out which were unintentionally dropped items that just so happened to coexist with the music. One of my more successful and easy videos. Week two was spent on timing and adding (not so) special effects. Such as.... Well you'll just have to see it. I hope you all like it.
